ABCO Technology is offering Cisco Networking courses at Los Angeles, California, beginning with the fall 2007-2008 semesters
In addition to industry certification, the courses may be taken by company employees for professional development, or as students those who want. The course prepares an individual for certification in the field, a vender-specific certification, but it covers a lot of the industry standards, including networking technology that applies to all or any brand of router or switch
In response to the growth of networking and the related security issues within computer systems used by companies large and small, ABCO Technology will be offering Cisco Networking courses at the Los Angeles Computer Training Center.
"Cisco Systems is a major player in the networking industry. Virtually every large company and even some smaller companies are using Cisco products for security needs and also for basic networking activity," noted Norman, a computer technology instructor at IBM and a graduate of the Cisco Academy instructor program from abcotechnology.com. "The course prepares an individual for certification in the field, a vender-specific certification, but it covers a lot of the industry standards, including networking technology that applies to all or any brand of router or
switch."
Schedule our trainer led classroom training at your convenience and never misses another lecture or fall behind. You are in complete control. We invited the Best Cisco Trainer in the industry to help us develop the ultimate training & certification program which includes everything you will need to fully prepare for your certification exam.
The router and switch represent the two main types of equipment that will be used in the classes, beginning with Cisco I in the first semester, which will introduce students to the networking field and followed by Cisco Routers II in the second semester. Completion of these two courses lead to certification in CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician). The remaining courses, Cisco Routers III and IV, map to the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) designation, an intermediate level certification.
The networking courses also will be offered at weekend to accommodate companies who want to send employees for the training. Anyone with a high school diploma or GED may apply to take the class. A placement test will determine if remedial work in math is needed for some students who have been out of school for awhile.
There is a bit of math involved in the Cisco classes. They might have to take a refresher course in math to get those skills up to speed. They could do that through our summer program and be ready for the Cisco I cl
asses, right away."
Traditional students may take the course and apply credits toward a networking degree. The class is expected to be split 50-50 with traditional and non-traditional students.
Gramh Smith, a recent graduate who plans to take the course in the fall, said, "When I first started coming to the school, I was looking for a networking class. I graduated last spring, and when I heard about the Cisco opportunity, I'm like 'I've been looking for this opportunity for a long time.' Once you have this as a vocation, to get a job is easier."
"A person who holds any level of certification with Cisco is very marketable, especially if they make it up to professional level and expert level," agreed Norman.
